The annual 1km square survey

This is the most 'formal' technique we use to monitor our hares. It uses a standard 'transect' methodology in sample 1 km squares. If you would like to take part in this you will be assigned a square which you must survey for hares for two hours in Spring. Further details .

Landowner's questionnaire

We are very keen to hear from farmers and other landowners who are interested in the hares on their land. A particularly valuable contribution can be made by those farmers and landowners who would be prepared to complete an annual questionnaire about the numbers of hares on their land. It's simple to complete and by repeating the questionnaire annually, you can make a really valuable contribution to our understanding of Brown Hare population trends in our area. Further details .
